Farewell to Nick Honey

Farewell to Nick Honey, AV CEO It is with much regret that Athletics Victoria announces the departure of current CEO, Nick Honey. Nick’s contribution to the sport of Athletics in Victoria has been substantial, not least because of his dedication, diplomacy and his ability to motivate and guide the AV staff to achieve positive results for athletics. Yet, perhaps of all Nick’s most enduring legacies is the role he played in guiding the move of Athletics Victoria to its new home at Lakeside Stadium and office at Athletics House in cooperation with Athletics Australia, Little Athletics Victoria, Little Athletics Australia and the Victorian Athletics League. Athletics Victoria sincerely thanks Nick for his commitment over the last 9 and a half years and wishes him the greatest success in the future. Nick has accepted the position of CEO with Basketball Victoria and will conclude his appointment with Athletics Victoria on 13 February 2013. The Board of Athletics Victoria has begun an extensive and thorough search for a new CEO to drive AV and the sport forward. Hamish Beaumont will take on the role of Acting General Manager during the transitional period. AV members may know Hamish through his work with athsvicTV, as chair of the XCR subcommittee, or as President of Melbourne University Athletics Club (a role he will take a leave of absence from during the transition period).
