2024 Vic Champs - Day 1
As they move toward the pinnacle of the 2023/24 season, a strong showing of Frankston athletes contested a short Friday session for the first night of the 2024 South Melbourne Physio Victorian Track & Field Championships. The highest place competitor of the night saw the club’s sole field representative, Jack Brewster, finish 2nd (6.47) in his MU18 long jump event.
On the track, strong performances over one lap saw Alexia Loizou (FOP 55.47), Paige Elvey (FOP 58.22), and Sam Elvey (MU20 49.72) all progress to the next rounds of their respective 400m draws. Imogen Baker led the charge in middle distance, with a 3rd place (4:42.16) ahead of compatriot Kylah Schuwalow (4:49.63) in the FU18 1500m, and Justin Wolseley (4:21.22) in the MOP event.
Day 2 of the championship continues on Saturday at Lakeside Stadium.
